Photographer’s Note
In some regions of Brazil the cattle still makes long trips marching, guided for the cattle tenders to the sound of the "berrante", a species of horn, made of ox horns. Some "comitivas" last one week, these include a cook who takes the provisions in donkeys, or a wagon, and always leave more early to anticipate the cattle tenders. In the Amazônia in the period of rains, the cattle is taken for high lands, where still it has grass. In the dry period they come back toward the low lands that now are very fertile with the nutrients deposited for the full one of the river Amazon. This transport of the photo is considered short, and covered 70km.

Em algumas regiões do Brasil o gado ainda faz longas viagens marchando, guiado pelos vaqueiros ao toque do berrante, uma espécie de buzina feita de chifres de boi. Algumas comitivas duram uma semana, essas incluem um cozinheiro que leva os mantimentos em jumentos, ou em uma carroça, e sempre sai mais cedo para se antecipar aos vaqueiros. Na Amazônia no período das chuvas, o gado é levado para as terras altas, onde ainda há pasto. Na estiagem eles voltam para as terras baixas que agora estão muito férteis com os nutrientes depositados pela cheia do rio Amazonas. Este transporte da foto foi curto, e percorreu 70km.

Excelente composição António. Aquela fila de gado no terço inferior da foto com a poeira à volta está muito boa. A terra em baixo e o verde das árvores em cima completam este bela visão. Muito bem.

Gostei da foto, essa névoa voando decorrente do gado andando sobre terra seca deu um efeito bastante bonito. Mais interessante é a silhueta do cowboy atrás dessa névoa.

Olá Antonio. A very nice photo of the "Amazonian Cowboys" walking the herd of cattle. The diagonal perspective is good, the light renders a natural pallette of colors, and the hazy clouds of dust bring a good atmospheric touch to the scene.

Hi Antonio. The dust cloud gives this shot some mystique as well as bringing the movement of the cattle to life. The green hill is useful for filling in the rest of the shot with good colors and beauty. Very nicely done Antonio.

Oi Antonio, documentacao muito interessante da vida amazonica. A sua foto da uma dimensao "nova" a regiao amazonica. Infelizmente nao e mais a mata densa, cheia de misterios mas sim a vida cotidiana de vacas, vaqueiros, mineiros, peoes, motoristas, etc. Beleza de ver como a poeira levantada pela manada cobre a parte detras e tendo somente a silhueta do vaqueiro no final da boiada.
