Snowy Mountains - Mount Kosciuszko by Eric Raum (10) 2011-01-00 - 2011-02-00
In my push to complete the 7 Summits, I decided no better time to knock off the easiest on the list than while I was already traveling to Australia. Mount Kosciuszko is the highest mountain in Australia, though some contend that it shouldn't be on the list, as in all of Oceania there is a higher peak yet. It was on the original list, however, so I resolved to go with it. ... (full story) (2 photos)

The Jenolan Caves by Cato Rusten (406) 2006-10-30 - 2006-10-31
I went on a trip to the Jenolan caves in the NSW. We started early on monday and returned late tuesday after spending a great night in a cabin with a view over lake Lyall.
The trip to the Jenolan Caves is a harrowing experience, the road was narrow and you feel like you'r falling of the cliff face into the valley on every corner( luckily we never met a bus, I have no idea how they manage it). ... (full story) (5 photos)
To Canberra and back again.. by Cato Rusten (406) 2006-08-26 - 2006-08-29
Canberra it self is a brilliant place for photography. There are a lot of great buildings for people who like taking shots of architecture. There are also a lot of good open vistas for people who like that, I was there in early spring so I didn't have any great sunsets, but I'm told summer is fabulous. ... (full story) (12 photos)
Melboure, Australia by Janice Dunn (4403) 2006-07-27 - 2006-08-01
On 27 July 2006, my daughter, Carolyn, and I flew to Melbourne, Australia, for a short five-night stay. We had a wonderful time together, fitting in as many shops and sight seeing as we could.
We did a really special trip up the Yarra Valley, visiting 4 of the local wineries with the Great Aussie Wine Tour.
And another special visit was to Federation Square, in Melbourne itself. I wish I could have stayed longer and taken more photos of this amazing place.
I hope you enjoy the photos.

Brisbane Buddhist Festival by Craig Seymour (1534) 2006-05-04 - 2006-05-06
For 3 days, Brisbane held a festival of enlightenment for Buddha's birthday. A lot of the Chinese community came out to celebrate too. There were workshops for the kids, calligraphy exhibitions, food, go to a meditation/yoga seminar, music and other entertainment. there was also traditional Buddhist things to do too. You could light a candle at the alter, burn incense at a shrine, ring the huge bell for good luck and participate in the bathing of the Buddha ceremony. There were always big crowds and my learnig of the Buddhist ways helped form my own beliefs. (4 photos)
