| Introdução: | I am 37, a publisher by profession. I have lived all my life in Kolkata, a city I am proud to call my home. I love travelling around and have a special soft corner for the Himalayas. Photography is a natural offshoot to my passion for travelling. I started off with an Agfa Click III camera when I was 7, moved on to a Polaroid and then to Minolta SLRs in the 90s. Emergence of digital photography changed things altogether. I went Digital with a Sony Compact in 2003 and finally graduated to DSLR, thanks to this site, in Dec 2006. What began merely as an effort to post some of my amateurish attempts at photography, soon became an addiction, a part of my daily routine. I have had no formal training in photography, TE became a learning school for me. Soon I was looking at hundreds of photos, critiquing them to the best of my ability and receiving valuable feedbacks on my photos. I travelled to Thailand, Cambodia, Ardh Kumbh in Allahabad and Varanasi during the last one year to put into practice tips that I have picked up from this site. But then Trekearth is not only about photography, as its motto goes 'Learn about the World through Photography' I have been on a virtual whirlwind tour of the world, discovering places I did not know existed and to top it all, I have made some great friends along the way. It has been a pleasure and an honour being a member of the TE family. Thank You Adam for making this happen. | |
