Welcome to my blatant self-promotion page on TE.

I felt compelled to re-write my "Intro" from the worthless blather that it was to something a touch more interesting, more introductory, more, well, compelling (to repeat myself). So this probably won't be much better, just longer...

Should I allow my posted photographs to speak for me? Should I try to impress everyone who bothers to look at these words with the words themselves? I think not on both.

I'm just another amateur photographer who wants to have the most impressive photo album on the holidays when I bore the crap out of my relatives with my DVD slide show.

I'm just another self-taught computer nerd who managed to parlay an understanding of technology into a career and enough smoke and mirrors to impress the technological layman.

Then I stumbled upon TE, looking for a travelogue of the Maritime Provinces in Canada so I could begin to plan next year's vacation. It might as well have been TZ (for Twilight Zone). Now I am spinning around in cyberspace, exploring the known and unknown world in the photography of so many other photographers, perhaps professional or wanna-be like me. Such knowledge, such talent, so many SMILIES!

Have I found an opportunity - or an addiction?

The jury is still out. I've been here short of two months, posted 45 photographs as of today. Will the other photographers help me to learn to be a better photographer? Will the other photographers stroke my ego with applications of little green smiling faces? Will the more honest of the community really offer me some constructive criticism?

I find myself hoping for all the above. I find myself surfing TE at odd hours of the day and night, even at *gasp* work when I think I can get away with it. I'm going to go on, though. I want to see what shakes out, what effect TE can have on me - and what effect I can have on TE.
