| Introdução: | Hi all, A little bit about myself... A software engineer by profession, I've been bitten by the photography bug only recently... Since the very first times my memory recalls, I’ve been astonished by the world around me – the ups and downs of life, the colors of nature, the tiny stars in a black night, the full moon and the freshness it brings, the people and their countless emotions, vibrant cultures, festivals... And everything else I witnessed... Also, being born in India, it was impossible for me not to get carried away by the beauty of life. This place is just too rich for one’s senses... Through photography, I wish I could justify my name ('Darpan' stands for 'Mirror'): To reflect what I see, for others to see it... Feeling everything has been so fascinating to me...and now I wish to share... The very fact I appreciate about this form of expression is it enables one to capture a tick of time that will never come back, and store it forever... I’ve been following this site for some time now, and I think it is a great platform for people like me to learn photography... Finally, I invite you all to visit my first attempts and provide your feedback. Do not hesitate to tell me whatever you feel, as it’ll help me learn... Welcome to the world again, through my lens... Update:17Oct08 2 months, 21 pictures- seems like a very small time to look back, but I’m stopping here to retrospect... Positives- have grown as a photographer- learned a lot about framing, presentation on web and conveying feelings across thru images. Have seen some excellent photographs and been involved in some enriching discussions with other members... As of now, I’m enjoying photography like never before... Not 'so' positives- having a hard time understanding the point system on TE. I find it difficult when a good image doesn’t get its deserved recognition and appreciation only coz it’s not from a big name- note that here I’m not talking abt me as I think I’ve certainly been lucky having got more than my share... But then, this is how it is, being famous isn’t a crime- it takes a lot to make a name for oneself, so no qualms :) I can just do my bit- As a rule, I try to critique, without preconditions, what I think is worthy...
