Photographer’s Note
While visiting the Elba Island (In Italian it is called Isola d'Elba) we were going to visit the summer house of Napoleon in the hills of the beautiful island, at the gate of the old house we found this lovely and enchanting old lady in a small kiosk where she was selling a recipe book made by herself for many years of typical Cucina Albana, plus many others small things that she made with her own hands. She was willing to let me take her pictures which made me very happy to do it. She doesn't have her eyes closed, she was checking very carefully the money the tourist was paying her for something he bought.
In my WS #1 you can see the summer house of Napoleon on the hills of the island.
In my WS #2 you can see the winter home of Napoleon in the old downtown of Portoferraio.

perfecto retrato de esta abuela (creo que es Nonna en italiano) vendiendo su libro de recetas. Seguro que es una cocina muy apetitosa, puramente mediterránea.
La realización técnica es impecable, me gusta el nivel de luz, sombras y colores.
Pili me comenta que con esta foto Rosa no se puede molestar ;o))
Bromas aparte, es una buena escena, cotidiana y espontánea.

Hola Emile, nice to see a daily life from tuscany for a change. I want to meet the people that live in these amazing landscapes too. She seems happy, you got a good lighting and there are many details to apreciate all around the image. I like her hat and the doll resting inside a heart ;-) Thanks for the WSs as well. I would say that I was expecting much bigger Palaces for Napolean instead of the houses you show.

Un retrato lleno de vida y color! La vieja señora tiene un aire encantador y parece ser una de esas personalidades que sabe hacer sonreír las personas que se acercan de ella.
Sospecho que la luz no era la más fácil de manejar, pero has echo un trabajo tan bueno que eso ni se nota.
Me gustan mucho los WS's.

Nonna Adriana seems to enjoy to be photographed and you made a god exposure considering the light and shade. Although her shop is quite small we can found a lot of things...A good portrait for a special character! Thanks for the detailed note and ws.

Muito simpática a senhora, parece que ela faz de tudo ali. Parece que ela virou ponto turístico, faz parte da paisagem ;-)
A posição dela na composição está perfeita, bom exemplo da utilidade das regras de fotografia - no caso, apesar de ser um ambiente cheio de elementos que poderiam distrair, isso não acontece, devido à ótima disposição destes mesmos elementos.

Un retrato muy simpático de esta abuela magníficamente realizado. La luz, colores y detalles son excelentes. Me gustan mucho los WS con los edificios que hicieron historia. La próxima vez que vaya a Firenze tengo que acercarme a visitar esta isla, algo que ya tenía en mente desde hace algún tiempo, pero es que Italia es mucho Italia, demasiados lugares interesantes para visitar.

Well captured action scene!! While the residences of Napolean are very interesting, the lady is a MUCH better choice for your primary post. She knows how to set an attractive scene with her joy of life attitude, her fine wood cabinets, her richly colored toque and apron, and a bunch of grapes. Well done.

J'apprends une nouvelle fois beaucoup de choses à travers les photographies présentées.
Outre cette brave femme proposant des recettes, j'apprécie la présentation de la résidence d'été de Napoléon. Je me souviens aussi des livres d'histoire où Napoléon 1er y fut exilé pendant trois cents jours !
