Photographer's Note

For centuries ferrymen pulled boats upriver along the Yangtze in China. Most of the stone paths lie now underwater as the Three Gorges Dam has rendered several hundred feet of water height drowning what remains. Here is a rare glimpse as the path winds into this cave. Perhaps deep within holds secrets. Often people are buried along the river as they seek peace from a long life. Within this cave may be a site for just that. The water will continue to rise and perhaps all of this cave will be hidden and the story of long ago along this great river will be lost.
