[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
A father and daughter ride together through a busy and noisy street scene.
To get this front on angle as they cycle towards the camera, I was wedged in between some wood on the back of a cycle rickshaw - riding backwards as it were - as my friends were already sitting on the main seat. So I was standing on a plank watching the world as I went backwards, and noticed this happy family cycling and watching me with great interest. I was very happy when they were keen on a photo as we slowly moved along the busy road.

Hi David, Nice one, showing the bustling Indian street behind these two. They are dead sharp but the street is OOF to just the right extent so that the context is clear but not intruding into the main subject. Interseting choise of desaturated colour which works well too. Cheers, Steve

Hey David,
Once again this sepia sort of colouring has worked really well to make the shot great and timeless. I love their expressions and the relationship between the father and daughter. Great that we can see the busy hustle and crowded street behind them too adding to the atmosphere. A decisive and daily life moment well photographed!
Regards
Wanda

ciao Dave from Oz!

good choice for sephia!
so we are not disturbed by colours - and India is a real rainbow! - and we concentrate on the smile and kindness of its people.
I loved being there...everybody's smiling and is so kind!

India is a place I would have never dreamt of finding myself so at ease until I went there

A really great daily life image. I love the sepia, very well suited to this. Very nice expressions and detail. TFS and have a great week!

Hi David
I like how you have turned this into sepia and your notes on how you took the photo tell an interesting story. The smiles on their faces says it all. TFS, Marlene

Hi David,
That's a nice idea. Halfway desaturated gives on old touch to your picture. The smile of these two is so nice... :o)

Hi David

Good pp work & partial desaturation / reversal to a sepia toned print. A marvellous daily life scene with good sharpness, too. Tfs!

I like the low POV and the perspective down the road. Excellent shot from the streets. Well done.
Best wishes,
Achim

It sounds like you were taking your life in your hands, but it provided you with a wonderful opportunity. You captured your subjects perfectly and they obviously enjoyed your attention. The saturation reduction has an unusual but very appealing effect. I'm wondering if the background was blurred in PP as f9 is quite a small aperture for this amount of blur, especially the wheel, bottom left, that would probably be in your focal plane. If so, it's not a complaint, as it is expertly done. Good work
Kath

Dave, Lookout the bike is coming at you! Great headon shot of the daily life on a busy and happening place. With so much going on it's can be hard to find you POV. I like the semi-sepia tone. gives it that timeless quality. Lovely shot with great technical quality overall.

david

it is a marvelous portrait in movement, the faces of the man and his daughter are perfect, perfect to light and the background that show us the scenery of an idian street, this mis of sepia and colors adds more interest. I liked the sharpness. There is only a problem: it would be better if the bicycle was appearing more in the lower area, but considerating this was a fast shot and the high human quality you got in this few time you had, this is nothing

hugs

Hello Dave. A good catch here with tall frame. I was thinking that this is a sepia shot but a clever play with color here. Good sharp image in good framing. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Hi David, nice street photo with great tone colors and special atmosphere! I like it!

Hi David,
Nice capture with extremely sweet an friendly expression on both the cycling Sardar and his daughter... the color treatment works well in giving a timeless touch to the picture..
Nice!
Greetings from Goa!

Interesting and lovely shot, I wonder how you could catch them - specially that the bicycles are not that common anymore in the centres of cities... I like your PP too with the colours partly kept,
Congratulations,
Cath.
