Almada - Arabic: حصن المعدن (pron. IPA: [aɫ'madɐ]) is a city and a municipality in Portugal with a total area of 70.0 km² and a total population of 164,844 inhabitants. The city itself has a population of 101,500.
The municipality is composed of 11 parishes, and is located in the district of Setúbal.
The municipal holiday is June 24.
The city of Almada is the seat of the municipality. Small, but densely populated, the municipality is limited from the east by Seixal and from the south by Sesimbra. Almada is a coastal municipality, bordering with the Atlantic Ocean. Cacilhas is the main port with ferry boat connections with Lisbon;Pragal is the parish with the Christ King Monument;
The beautiful Bridge 25 de Abril spans above the Tejo river, the major river in the Iberian Peninsula.Between Almada and Lisboa this bridge,one of the largest in Europe,links Greater Lisbon and the Setubal Peninsula,by motor vehicle and by train as well.
The municipality received a foral from Dom Sancho I in 1190. The municipality of Almada includes two cities:Almada and Costa da Caparica. Coastal Almada offers sandy beaches and panoramic views.

Olá Paulo!
Uma bela imagem realmente, com bastante nitidez, cores bem naturais e uma visão geral dessa região do outro lado do Rio Tejo!
Estive aí em 2004 e subi até o "Cristo Rei" e pude ver toda a beleza ao redor, inclusive essa imagem mostrada em sua linda foto!

Hi Paulo, I've taken many photographes from the "Cristo Rei", but always towards the North. That's why I liked your photo which I found very original. I can even see Costa da Caparica :) Kind regards, Tolga

Paulo, very nice, great color and composition for sure but the sharpening seems to have take it's toll and the red roofs of he buildings seem to be breaking up a bit but as always is the case it may just be my moitor or the small post size. Nice capture,

é uma bela vista, a auto-estrada é a que vai para o sul, já passei por ali. O mar ao fundo me faz recordar que foi ali, na caparica, que tomei meu primeiro banho de mar aos 6 anos. saudades. quer palavra que rime melhor com portugal ?

Oi Paulo ,
Ficou muito bonita a foto ai de cima até dá para notar a curvatura da terra , ficou com uma profundidade fantástica , gostei muito das cores vivas o céu ajudou muito com as nuvens e um azul muito belo , tenho uma fotos ai de cima tirei com a minha maquina antiga mas ficaram muito pobres :), parabéns!!!

Salvo erro consegue-se ver a serra da Arrábida.Esta foto faz-me recuar um bocado no tempo e recordar as férias que eu passei na Costa da Caparica onde provei pela primeira ve os caracóis. A foto está bem enquadrada a vista é de perder de vista...
