Photographer’s Note
Early summer heat generated a mighty thirst in our intrepid paddlers when the gods smiled and thus appeared Dennett's Warf depending cold frothy micro brews served with oysters on the half shell. Check paid our paddlers were back on the water at the confluence of the Bagaduce and Penobscot rivers.

Hello Tom,
The kayak on the right is a bit tight on the edge of the picture. Otherwise this is a very nice image. The amount of boats tells of the popularity of this place. The colours seem well saturated and the streak of blue sky look great against the cloudy half. Very nice place and picture. Thanks Tom.

I’d almost called it a night before I saw this, Tom. A fine, evocative shot of a summer afternoon in a kayak. I like the breadth and vibrancy, the contrasts and complements of your colors here. A couple of notes on where you might make it even better: Your horizon appears slightly tilted downward on the left side, and it would be nice to have cropped the rightmost kayak just a tad less tightly. That said, it’s a pleasing image you have here, and it sounds like the reminiscences are good ones.
Warm regards,
Jim

Hello Tom,
Splendid picture very well captured and lovely composed.
The place and pleasant colours make of this image and attractive picture.
But I agree with previous writer your horizont tilt to the right.
Not real disturbing, I like this picture.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a nice day,
John.

I like the composition here; it has a nice feel to it bringing back memories of a distant summer. Very good sharpness.

Hi Tom
I find this particularly interesting pov with such colorful composition of sharp details. Nicely done FG of kayak and stones. Red and yellow roof cover. The sky is half side blue and other side white, as if painted!
Great work. TFS

Hi Tom
Apart from a tilt to the left, I really like this shot: the way the kayaks are dispersed in the bottom right, the way the rocks separate them from the jetty with its bright awnings, and the slightly over-the-top colour saturation which makes it look a little painterly.

Andrew

Bonjours

Hi Tom
This is well composed as you have included some nice colours of red and yellow plus some blue on the canoe on the right. Good FG interest. I have to ask if you applied the "darkening of highlights" effect to this shot?

Hi Tom,
An interesting shot with splendid details and lots of complementary colors. Those kayaks look inviting (have never been in one myself) but it always looks neat when others are out in them. Fine shot and TFS. Gerald

hello tom
a nice scene from maine, a state i plan to hopefully explore more thoroughly when the warmer weather comes in. nice, inviting ambience brought about by the boats in the foregaround. the yellow accent is refreshing too.
personally, i would have preferred to have slightly more space to the right of the blue boat. but that's my subjective preference.
my compliments and TFS

Hi Tom,
Lovely scene ... I like the way you use the kayaks and big rocks as your foreground to anchor your main view. The lateral lines of the poles and its reflections creates a pleasant structure. One wee thing though that needs adjustment is the tilted horizon. But overall it is a good photo. Well done! tfs

Hi Tom,
Your clever way of creating splendid scenes is working very well also here as usual every time. I like busy shore with high contrast colored canoes and colored tents with reflections of pier. Blue sky is also wonderful again half of clouds.
Friendly Regards,
