Photographer’s Note
Apart from yesterday's broken lamp which was not actually an exhibit anyway, and some old photographs, practically the only object on display within the Al Kaff palace in Tarim was the mirror. It's not entirely clear to me why it was there at all, as a lone exhibit, but it was in good condition and I found it interesting how the colorful decorations echoed the typical Yemeni windows with bits of colored glass.
Of course, when one takes a photograph of a mirror, it's hard to avoid reflections so this turned into a self portrait as well... But on every trip I try to make a self portrait so that was fine!
Note: On this picture, as well as that of the lamp, I've taken care to enter a rather precise geographical location - if you follow the map link and zoom in you can see the map pointer pointing to the Al Kaff Palace. (I'll make the geodata for other images more precise as well when I have the time: it's fun to be able to "point" to exactly where a picture is "located".)
