...Summer is just around the corner , the sun is shining , colours are bright and it's time to look up all the beautiful places !
This time I will invite you to come to Gavnoe , island and manor house, not far from Naestved .
Gavnoe is absolutely one of my favourite places !

Gavnoe - the island of flowers - where historical memories , art , nature and flowers are united in one place .
Already in the 12.th century there was a pirate's castle at the island . In 1398 , however , it was purchased by Queen Margrethe the 1.st , who turned it into a convent for " unmarried women of noble rank ".
Today , Gavnoe castle is one of Denmark's finest rococo castles , where the visitor will find a great many things of interest , e.g. the largest private owned collection of paintings in the Scandinavia .
You can walk through big dining rooms and beautifully furnished guestrooms from the 1750ies where kings and noblemen stayed when they came to visit .
There is a beautiful little convent church , a butterfly house, and The Danish Fire Protection Historical Museum.
Gavnoe castle is surroundeed by Denmark's most beautiful bulb park , which I will show you in the days to come...
