Photographer’s Note
The natural reserve of Sépey covers 5,4 ha. It includes two large ponds, surrounded by belts of vegetation. The pond of Sépey is also a crossing point for reproduction for water birds. One can observe almost all the year, except when water is very cold. In spring, one can admire there a dozen mergansers ducks which appreciate fish, mallards and foulques and water hens. An important colony of heron ashy nests in a bunch/bouquet of larches located near the surrounding wood and one often sees them around pond.
Roots meeting branches on a nice sky reflection as background. That was the subject of this composition.
PP: This is the original composition, no crop. Just roated as it was titled a bit. Adjusted curves, sharpened, NI and saved for the web.

Wow, Carlos, it's even hard to see where the reflection stops, and where we enter the real world again, at least with th tree in the middle. The bit of light on the foreground is great, especially on those leaves. th reflection of the sky, is beautiful. The roots are a nice mess in the foreground. I like the way you cropped this picture.

Very very good. It looks like an abstract painting. The colors are really good and the way they all sum up together makes it surreal.

Very nice colors. And very nice reflection. That really adds to the painting feel of this. And as Rinie says it just sort of fades into the real and reflected. These roots are really interesting. Very tangled and alive. A good contrast to the glass smooth water. Very nicely done.

Magnifique composition !

Very interesting diagonal water line, being the bright spot in the shot, Carlos! :-) I like the way you composed the tree reflections, as they turn into fine details here. The colours of reflected sky and greenery bring freshness and the light effect makes it even more creative presentation of the wild scenery. I agree with Manny that it looks like abstract painting. Very well seen and captured again!
ps: I don't see any ducks there. Did you scare them..? ;-P

Fascinating, Carlos, this is one of these shots where you have to work a bit to figure it all out: what's reflection and what's not, which organic form belongs to what. I like that very much. I also like the beautiful light/shadow that you captured. The reflected sky is great. This ponds is very interesting for nature lovers but even more so for photographers - you showed us this in a strong way. Great job!

Bravo Carlos

Great composition with a nice ambience. The light-shadow patches adds a nice feel to the shot. The exposure is well managed as the leafes are nicely lit by the sun with good lighting at ground level. The roots of the trees resembles some kind of giants worms crawling out of the ground... :)

Stunning nature shot, Carlos. The thumbnail doesn't do it a lot of justice, unfortunately, but looking at the large version is a great joy - for the fine diagonal composition as well as for the great colors and the way you enhanced the picture in your post-work. The reflection is very well rendered, good work!

Very special atmosphere you captured here Carlos - I guess the roots at lower left in combination with the reflections what makes this shot special - I like the strong dark colours - Fine work indeed.

Bravo
