Photographer’s Note
I’ll tell you a sad story.
They are Welter and Flory, an old but still admirable couple. The love for their owners, I am sure, was unlimited; and how much happiness they gave them. You imagine Welter and Flory, leaned against a tree along a river in spring, smiling to those two guys flirting on the grass. The world is without gratitudine, really. Now they languish tenderly togheter eaten away by rusty. Fortunately, they are close the Law Courts: will anyone vindicate their rights?

Well, Gae I'm happy they still have each other. And as Line said - you really gave these bikes personality. Lovely story with a good pay off. Nice & well composed pic too - I love the ensemble!

Very well spotted Gae - I like your story of the two bikes - They have seen better days - but hopefully theres still some hope for them ;-)
Surely one for the theme - thanks for sharing.

Pretty small history and good idea of this subject to make a photograph. Good composition and good framing.

Good note, Gae. Good shot showing these two worn, beat up, old bikes. Perhaps they should be represented at the law courts. :) I like worn looking subjects such as these are. I really like the flat, treadless, tire. Really makes them look sad and old. Good job.
On a side note, this reminded me that I am hoping to see someone post a photo of the Giro. Maybe we'll get one from you when they stroll into Milano. :) Would be a good contrast to these old bikes.

Very amusing. Flory looks like a Dutch immigrant, how long has she lived in Italy. Probably since being made redundant after the socialist cycle scheme in Amsterdam folded, trying to find the last vestage of Euro social democracy. Maybe she was disappointed by Berlosconi.
