Photographer’s Note
Norbert suggested yesterday that assisstant station master at Hau Hin might be an easy going career. Maybe, but not so much as being the station master himself at Ban Sra (I think that was the name of the first small station south of Hau Hin) Only 4 trains a day in each direction stop there, and he's on duty there full time. He told us he liked the job because his main interest is gardening, and the station has an extensive garden which this guy has turned into a magnificent horitcultural display. Before we left he gave us a bunch of the most delicious bananas we'd ever have had, picked from one of his plants.

Now that sounds like a good job. if his hobby was Trek Earth he could be quite popular;)
A nice shot Richard. Well framed, a tidy composition, the train is a good dominant foreground.

This is better, Richard, visually less ambitious than that last Hua Hin one but on the other hand much more contained. The station master and the signal men both cuaght just right, onward ho!

A beautiful continuation of your railway theme, Richard, and a good storytelling as well in the combination of photo and note. The flags are making the photo here, converging towards a virtual focal point at the upper left. And of course the comprehensive framing with the perspective along the train car is well chosen, too. I like it.

An interesting detail: the signal flags of both men match the two Thai flags.
About gardening station jobs, in the small station of my village (20 years ago) it happened exactly the same that you describe here.
