Photographer's Note

This is a view of the escalators of the Bon Marché, the great department store located on the Left Bank ("Rive Gauche") of the Seine in Paris, near the tube station Sèvres-Babylone. The Bon Marché is the first department store opened in Paris, established by a Mr Boucicault, in the middle on the 19th century and the precursor of the others located on the Right Bank : Galeries Lafayettes, Printemps, Samaritaine (now closed) and Bazar de l'Hotel de Ville. The store is at the origin of the French naturalist writer Emile Zola's book, "Au bonheur des dames" (for the ladies' pleasure)...

I went there for some shopping, having my camera with me and had been interested by the strange design of the intertwining escalators built in the inside of the main building. Just a test picture.
