Photographer’s Note
I found this little boy cutting wood to be used for cooking food. I watched him for quite sometime and he seemed to be busy and good at what he was doing.

Hi Santosh. I would like to see the boys face and have the picture taken from the boys level rather than looking down on him.
Having said that, this picture gives me a lot to think about. The little boy appears to be about 7, my sons age. I get nervous when he handles a steak knife, let alone a formidable looking axe like this boy is wielding. Life is certainly different for little ones in places like India, and many other parts of the world. It's good and helpful to see how others live. One thing is for sure, that little fellow would be far better able to take care of himself in a pinch than my son would. We may think we have it better over here in the western world, but I don't know!
I appreciate very much your sharing this picture with the TrekEarth community!

This a great everyday shot. It frightens me that a child this little would have the responsibility to handle such tools. Although the face is not visible the concentration and intensity are there. There's also so much action and purpose to this whole photo

Hi Santosh.
This is nice to see that images are attempted to reveal the way children are ill-treated in our country.
It is written in your note that the child is cutting wood, but that is not wood, it's the lower end portion of a cocunut tree's leaf. Its not that hard as wood, but making a small child do this is not good.
regards.
