Photographer’s Note
This is the Cairo. I don’t want to offend any body, but it a pretty ugly city with unattractive architecture. Pollution and dust are present in all the city and traffic jam are usual. The activity is frenetic as it is a really big city, about 18 millions people living there. The Cairo is one of the few cities in Africa which has subway and it is a real experience to take it.
There are more than 1000 minarets in the Cairo and a lot of churches and synagogues too. All religions live together, and it seems than Cairo people respect each other without religious conflicts, and that is a real good thing.
The Cairo has a very rich history and it had been the very important city in this part of the world.
I took my photo in two parts and the connection between the two parts is not perfect, but I hope it will give you an idea of this big city.

Hi Marie,
No, the stitch is not perfect, but the view is spectacular...!!!
Is this one also taken from the Citadel, just as my Cairo shot?
The view is pretty good. Because of the smog the view is mostly very hazy, but this one comes out pretty good.

Ive never been. But ugly? Im there. Dont you think that the so called "ugly" cities have more personality? I would much rather shoot in an ugly place than a clean, pretty place. I guess I like that urban grit and grime. Great shot on Cairo.

Good POV. Cairo is full of character so I wouldn't really call it ugly. It can take a lot of getting use to but it is well worth spending time there. I found it a beautiful city. You got it about the air polluntion, terrible! Just like here in Seoul, especially with the yellow dust from China. Nice work.

... ugly city?? unattractive architecture??? I think you visit a different Cairo than me.... and also about religious conflicts you are wrong!! I suggest you to talk only about subjects you really know. Have you ever talked with some egyptian people? Bah......

Marie I must say you really have a winning shot in this posting. The details are excellent, and the air quality does show in this photo too. Thanks for stopping by my gallery.

Hola Marie.
Buena vista y composición. La polución es muy visible y eso convierte a la foto en un testimonio del momento en el que se tomó.
Un poco más definición serviría.
Carlos.
