Photographer’s Note
You can see that I was going trough some of my last year photos. This is gonna be one of the last photos from Bagan for some time :) However I could not resist not to share this one with you. As it has very special atmosphere (well what sunrise or sunset photos from Bagan dont have :) You can see those xxx pagoda spires all around the place hidden in the mist with few strong silhouettes in the front. What I also like is the composition of two front right main pagodas in balance with two top flying baloons.

Hi Lucie
Stunning shot with the silhouettes of the pagodas and the balloons which make it quite exceptional. Beautiful yellow light and dynamic format.

this is the third great shot i've seen of spires and balloons from myanmar. yet, i'm still in complete awe as to how beautiful this place is.
actually, i've heard myanmar is not a safe place to travel, but i see a lot of photos from there.
i want you to know that you have my complete admiration. this is one of the most amazing scenes to behold on trek earth. and although you're not the first to shoot it, your shot is definitely beautiful work.
well done. and thanks for sharing.

Just gret. Is this your "gold" period? Yesterday's shot was super, and this is also excellent. Even without those balloons this would be a superb shot, but those ballloons fill that empty sky with 2 points of interest, balance the lower part of the photo. Superb depth and I love the mist.

Bonjour Lucie
encore une superbe image pleine de poésie. entre pointes et boules, comme si ces aiguilles menaçaient les tranquilles bulles de savon.

Hi Lucie - I'm quite undecided as to which of your photos from Bagan that I like the most. The previous one was very special, even mystical, but the one with the balloons is also very unique and beautiful. The morning light gives the shot a wonderful glow - superb shot!

A very atmospheric shot. Ilove the golden mistiness here; given the scenery, it could have been taken 200 years ago!
I think the wide composition is particularly effective and there's enough in this photo to keep the interest across the whole width.
Personally, I'd prefer the shot without the balloons, but it's just a personal opinion and I understnd what you say about balancing the composition.
This is one place I really have to go to!

Hello Lucie,
Superbe image ! Tout y est: cette lumière chaude est incroyable et les effets de brumes sont superbes ! La perspective est grandiose et les silhouettes en contre jour de ces toits pointus apportent une certaine symétrie avec la forme des mongtolfières. Great job !
Best regards, François

Hello Lucie,
I have only just discovered your gallery after browsing through some other people's favourites and seeing several links to your photographs. Having been on TE for more than a year now, I am amazed that I have missed seeing your wonderful photographs for so long (it makes me wonder who else I am missing).
It was hard to know which one to critique first. This one is not your best technically, but I love the composition, light and mood, As you said yourself in your introduction, "what counts the most - is the emotional appeal of the photograph itself. TE members are very demanding and they do not accept just pretty picture of a pretty place. It needs to have some 3rd dimension . . . It is the light and atmosphere that counts the most". So so true, and that's what I try to achieve in many of my own postings (but not as successfully as you have).
The other reason I like this photograph is that Bagan is one of my favourite places on earth - and I love balloons! I can't wait to get back into the sky over Bagan.
I look forward to seeing more of your great postings when you are back from your current trip.
Cheers . . . David
