Photographer's Note

This is one of a serial of pictures I took over Gia Lam Bridge at the suggestion of Nhiem Hoang. I also upload this in response to comments by Hoa Cuong Hua about protection oneself from sun. It's sad to see sadness on a human being...

As you could read in my yesterday photo’s note, local people shed blood to the deadly fight to protect the bridge. I arrived here after 3 full decades to witness another fight still going on: the fight against the sun and dust.

While fighting the hunger and keeping their heads above water, my brothers and sisters don’t have yet the luxury of using SPF lotion to protect their skin while the quest for meal keeps them being exposed to the direct sun ray day after day.

There is still a long journey 30 years after the 30-year war until my people could taste the real sweet of life. I wish them all the best.
