Photographer's Note

This was taken some weeks ago, from a window looking towards the neighborhood of “Alto de Pinheros” in Sao Paulo, a very nice residential area.

That had been a rainy day until 2 hours before the sunset. Since the rain and a slight breeze had washed away the pollution, the air was clear; as the sun went behind some buildings, the horizon turned into a very strong orange color… and that caught my eye instantly.

The image was not processed for saturation or brightness, but was exposed at –2 EV (that to enhance the shadows), and later I gave the line that appears in the “curves” graph (Photoshop CS) a very strong “S” shape.

Raw Capture at ISO 100 – f8.0 – 1/500s @ 180 mm – Post processing: raw conversion (DPP) to Jpg, and then contrast (curves), cropping, USM and save for the web.

Ps. ;-)! Post no flowers!!
