Une papagolfade danoise

When the weather was fine yesterday, I made a little cycle tour through some of the southern suburbs of Copenhagen, like Hvidovre, Rødovre and Brøndbyøster, which was still unknown area for me. It isn't the most exciting part of Copenhagen, but I found this very nice church in Hvidovre: a real Danish Papagolfade.

Hvidovre Kirke was built around the year 1150, it is one of Danmark's early Romanesque church and is made of limestone. In the following ages the church would be extented and in times of war also partly pulled down. In the late 17th century the church was extented with so-called Valbyskibet (Valby Nave) for the farmers from Valby, who no longer were welcome in the Vor Frue Kirke in Copenhagen. The tower itself tells us it dates back to 1790, but I could find anything more on this.
Hvidovre Kirke is the oldest building in the Hvidovre Municipality.

I took this picture at the end of the afternoon. Hope you like this little church!
