This is the 716 ton shipwreck of 'Mt Kembla' as it appeared in 1982. It was 180' long and built in England in 1885, for Mt Kembla Coal and Oil Company & deliberately sunk on the western shore of Moreton Island, to form a safe anchorage point for boats seeking shelter from Westerly winds. The top of another ship is just visible in the mid-distance.

Not sure if the pp work is effective here. The sky was originally white, & 'burning' revealed these orange & yellow colors, which I kind of liked. There are 2 fishermen on the prow of the fg boat.

I initially thought this was 'Tangalooma Wrecks', but they are further south, & placed parallel to the shore. To see what 'Bulwer Wrecks' looks like in 2004, please open the link below:

Effective and dramatic PP for this one, and the high contrast makes the most of the wreck. Nice job.

Hi Chris!
What a great atmosphere and what a excellent POV. Very nice clear water and very interesting gradiant in the sky. Tanks for posting this nice shot.
Regards
Amir

Hi Chris,
You did well with your PP in this picture. Fantastic colors and light contrast. Very good enquadrement for this beautiful place, fisherman, boats and sea. Fine sharpness and a very beautiful scenery and picture.

Very well seen, done and composed. Congratulations!
Fernando

Hi chris

Well this is an impressive work as PP, the result is very interesting and a little unreal, but to my teaste i like it as i like really all PP.
the daily scene is nice too.
cheers
greg

Well Chris,
I like the colours of the sky. It works very well with the colours of the sea. This composition is very nice with this amazing skeleton dominating it. It must be a wonderful place for children to play about pirats. I also like the two fisherman. They allwyas get into places no one will.
TFS,

Cheers,
Ricardo

hi chris, this is an amazing picture - colours are simply a kind of hocking - noone would expect them being so intensive, so well contrasted; excellent marine shot!
best wishes, jerzy

Interesting combination of browns and turqouis here Chris, makes for a great feel to the shot.
This old boat is a great subject.

Nicely shot Chris,
- Dan

Hi Chris,
The subject and the combination of this wreck together with the sky give that one an interesting post apocalypse feeling, reminds me of Mad Max movies !!!
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Bonjour Chris,
Bravo pour cette très belle réalisation où les couleurs prennent celles d'une aquarelle. Le sujet est très beau, le tout est parfaitement mis en valeur.
Très belle image.
Amitiés.
Philippe

Hello Chris,
Almost apocalyptic scenery of a (today) popular tourist place. I think the pp work is OK. Can almost hear the waves breaking inside the wreck. Very sharp and rusty place to go fishing. TFS. Thomas

Hi Chris
This old boat find a second life with the fisherman.
Very nice composition. I like the beautifull light
Well done
Bertrand

Great presentation of this wreck Chris. Top colours to go with the compo. Excellent inclusion of the fishermen out on the bow. Really something different and interesting

Hi Chris,
A very interesting, well composed shot. All the scars and bruises of the years are visible on this hulk. I like how it angles into the frame and the surf crashes over the forward section. The two fishermen seem incongruous in the scene. The sky is most enhancing and contrasts well with the water. A very successful shot.

Very unusual and beautiful colour combination. The light blue/green sea makes a nice contrast with the yellow/orange sky. There is another contrast, between the decayed ship and the clear beauty of nature. The fishermen on the ship provides additional interest and completes the scene. Well done!

Hi Chris,
WOW. Great shot. The color mix is great with very strong contrasts. The fishermen fishing at the old ship are an important and decisive aspect of the composition.
Love it
Fred

Wow what a rotten peace of metal. A childs dream and a parents nightmare. I like this shots because it bears so much interesting information.

Interesting and unusual view, Chris, with the guys fishing from the shipwreck adding an offbeat touch. Good dramatic light and the mood is well enhanced by the results of your post-work.

Hi Chris
I like the effect of the sky a lot - the colours contrast really well against the emerald sea and add a magical atmosphere. The figures give us an idea of scale and add movement and interest.
Regards, Susanna

Wow Chris this is outstanding. Everything here is so beautiful and impressive at the same time. The sky is the icing on the cake. This is one of those times where everything comes together for you. A most excellent shot Chris.

Bonjour Chris,
Une photo insolite de ta part, mais elle méritait d'être postée. La composition est grande avec ce ciel devenu rougeoyant avec le PP et une mer turquoise exquise.
Bravo mon Ami !

Hi Chris
Interesting color toning against the black and darken shipwreck. The sea water looked crystal clear, too.
With the sea beating to the shore and the storm coming in, this have created a dramatic fell to the image.
Well done, Chris.

Hi Chris
This is a very dramatic shot with the rusty wreck taken from a great angle the emerald sea and firery sky. I like the details of the fishermen too.

Hi Chris,
Splendid different colours between the wreck, nice PP work, this composition is very nice with this amazing skeleton dominating it, but two fishers are the eye catchers, very lovely image!
Best regards,
John.

Hi Chris. I like the pp here. Interesting subject and good pov. Looks dangerous fishing over there.

Hi Chris,
Excellent framing, the perspective is great as you have captured the ships predicament form an excellent POV. THe two people give it a sense of scale and the water foam going through is really well captured. FInally beautiful and dramatic sky.
Really good one of your best.
Cheers
Daniel

Hi Chris, Thanks for the note for the reason of what the boat is about. A very well taken picture with details and rich texture. Nice color contrast and great details. Well done.

Hi chris.
Very nice atmosphere for this great composition. The perspective is superb and the POV is very well chosen. Wonderful colors and contrast and interesting note ! Thanks for sharing !

Hi Chris - very effective PP work, the surreal sky goes well with the shipwreck, and the blue sea stands out nicelay snadwiched between the warm colours.

This boat in te sand is impressive and very nostalgic even if it helps for fishing. You have given a very good proportion of it in the picture and the colors are very "queensland" ( great lighy sandy and bleus)
Compliments

Of course Chris this is a great subject this wreck and you show it in a most unique colorsetting with the blue turquoise sea to this yellow/red/blue gradiant sky, good to have the fishermen scaling. Excellent PP.
