#200: Huset på Christianshavn
(The House at Christianshavn)

Today I interrupt my Göteborg-Travelogue, cause it's time for my 200th picture on TE. :-D
And I want to celebrate this with a picture from the part of Copenhagen called Christianshavn (Christian's Harbour). I took this picture after my visit of the Opera House.

Christianshavn is a part of the island Amager and is connected to the rest of the centre of Copenhagen by one bridge, Knippelsbro as well as by the two metro lines M1 and M2. Christianshavn was originally an independent town, but later it became a part of Copenhagen.
Christianshavn was established in the 17th century by King Christian IV.
The most famous landmarks in this part of Copenhagen are Vor Frelsers Kirke (Church of our Saviour) and Christiania. It featured also in the international bestseller Frøken Smillas fornemmelse for sne (Miss Smilla's feeling for snow) by Peter Høeg.
The part you can see here is called Christianshavn Kanal (Christianshavn's Canal).

The title of this picture is the name of the famous Danish television series Huset på Christianshavn (The House at Christianshavn).
Hope you like! :-D
