Barcelona - Sardane

Complicated dance whose steps and points are counted, this round which mixes with the groups of friends or the whole villages on the places is danced only for the folklore but to feel this Catalan unit.

To see dancing the sardane, it is necessary to go in front of the cathedral of Barcelona saturdays at 18. 30, Sunday with 12 H and Wednesday towards 19 H, or placed of Sant Jaume Sunday at the end of the afternoon.

The orchestra called cobla is consisted eleven musicians: a string instrument, the wind double bass and ten instruments: a flaviol, two tenors, two tibles, two trumpets, a trombone, and two fiscorns. The musician who plays the flaviol is provided in addition to one small tambourine, which with the double bass have the role of supporting the rate/rhythm.

In a normal hearing, the musicians play six sardanes. Taking into account the rest (essential), that represents two hours of musics.
