Photographer’s Note
Barcelona. La pedrera Gaudi
La Pedrera was the last great civil work with Gaudí performed before dedicating all his time to the construction of the Sagrada Família.
Construction was completed between 1906, the year in which Gaudí signed the first plans, and the end of December of 1910.
The roof is curious because it is replete with strangely shaped chimneys and ventilators.
We went to visit Pedrera in end according to midday.
The day had been splendid and the sky was of a major blue with some quite white clouds.
The visitors started to leave and I could take this photograph.
Gaudi gave to these chimneys the extraordinary mushroom shape.

Excellent use of repitition to reinforce the subject! The composition is delightfully dynamic, and I love how the angle of the travelling clouds goes perpendicular to the angels of the subject. The colors are so sharp and saturated! All in all, a wonderful piece!

Great perspective making the chimneys shoot up to the sky! I also like how they are composed almost into a triangle, and the contrtast between two strong colours...
best regards!

Bonsoir Georges.

I have seen this motif several times but never from this PoV. It is not only new for me, it gives me the impression that these chimneys are like very well satured giants that a new hero should combat: don Quixote was born 400 years ago.

Splendid composition of one of the most intreguing buildings I've ever seen... You were lucky to have the sun at a low level and to have those beautiful little clouds in the cack... Light is everyting and the eye of the photographer of course!

Wonderful architectures of the building. I like the warm color of the chiminy background with blue sky. The composition is really great. Thank you so much to show a place of the world where i can't go.
