I like the graphism of the white birds against the dark storm clouds. Hope you've thawed out, after yesterdays snowfalls around Melbourne. The horizontal layering in the image is great, & the pier, or observation deck, on the right, is a good additional detail.

Hi Jennifer. What a lovely light you found for this one, and even more so a convenient contrast provided by the dark layer of clouds to show the flock of gulls at the very best. The coastal scenery below looks lovely in the way it is hit by the sunlight.

Quite wonderful light Jennifer that yields those brightly lit sea birds flying against the dramatic clouds above. As spring approaches for you, offering you more minutes of light, autumn approaches for us, with the sun lowering in the sky to offer more of the fine light we've come to appreciate as photographers.
Here you capture good detail and rich colors in this appealing scene. This is a fine effort. I'd love to walk around this sanctuary on a fine spring day.

A great phot with a fantastic sky i really like the rythmic qaulity offered by the birds in flight.
The light is wonderful and the colors are very good. I particularly like the dark and light sky.

Hi Jenny,
I can't believe I had this in my favorites for so long without writing a critique. It has been a fav of mine since my earliest TE days because it is scene I've often viewed and have never seen its essence captured in a photo. The threatening clouds really make the birds stand out. My favs are overflowing so I've staryted a theme called birds in flight and put the photo there so I can still find it.
