A Sashuis is a home of a sasmaster or lock keeper.

If it is a sluice, the building is sometimes called a spui house. More specifically, this name is used when the house with the sas, or with the doors, forms a whole, such as the lock at Lier, or the sashuis at Herdersem. The term is also known from the book (and film and television series based on it) "De Filosoof van 't Sashuis" by Maurits Sabbe, where the story takes place around the sashuis at the Minnewater in Bruges
I hope you can enjoy.
