Photographer's Note

Every year during the Flower Festival the city of Medellin hosts a week-long schedule of events and festivities including the world famous parade of "silleteros". In the parade unfold millions of flowers loaded in "silletas" to the back, which are a laborious generational work of the peasants. It is a tribute to those peasants who used the wooden saddle since the mid-nineteenth century, a vehicle to transport cargo and people through the rugged spots of Antioquia, on the backs of heavy loaders who today seem like characters of legend.
