Walking in Naarden

I live pretty close to one of the most charming towns in The Netherlands, called Naarden. The historic centre was built within the fortifications of a star fort (see the map view). This photo was taken from the other side of the moat and shows the top of the fortified wall, where a lady was just walking her dog, and the tower of the Grote Kerk (Great Church). Naarden was granted city rights in 1300 and used to be the most important town in the region Het Gooi for many centuries, but has now been surpassed by its neighbours Hilversum and Bussum.
