Photographer’s Note

Today's photo gives you an idea of what my main activity will be next week ;))

This type of lift used to go up again before descending yet another slope is slightly becoming a historical device as more and more ski resorts upgrade their lifts to top modern installations in order to transport more skiers. Chairlifts are getting bigger (I think the maximum is now around 10 in a row of chairs !) as do gondolas and cable cars. The last giant cable car has been inaugurated some months ago to link the already huge resorts "Les Arcs" and "La Plagne". Logical Result of these spendings is that prices go up dramatically and lead people like me to prefer smaller resorts. I do not need 600 kms of slopes when I ski for one day, here for example I was on the skilift in "Les Houches", the resort just below the Mont Blanc. The cut mountain to the left of the photo should actually be the "Mont Blanc".

Have a nice time, see you later !
