Photographer’s Note
Ulgi Park & Lighthouse, from Daewangam Rock, in the East Sea / Sea of Japan, on the eastern extremity of Baengojin & Ulsan. I've left the lighthouse at 90 degrees & let the perspective fall where it will either side. There are really 2 lighthouses, & top of the older one, can just be seen at left. Here's a link to a shot of the old lighthouse:
http://beta.trekearth.com/gallery/Asia/South_Korea/South/Ulsan/Ulsan/photo191131.htm
I'd say the trees grew so tall, that the old lighthouse became redundant. So they built a new one alongside it.
"Ulgi park in Ilsan‐dong, Dong‐ku, Ulsan city, which has a forest for a happy walk and a beach covered strange rocks and bizarre stones, is a rare place for a rest in the city.
It is very good to see the sands of the Ilsan beach situated beside the park, which has a fresh place of 925,000㎡ after looking around the beach covered with crags.
Because the area in which Ulgi park is located juts out into the east sea from the southeast, it is very famous for a Ulgi light house, a guidance of the east sea.
Also, tourists can feel cool and coziness in the shade of tall pine trees having grown for 100 years on the 600m road to the light house from the gate.
After passing the road covered with a forest, a vested coastal cliff, called Daewangnam, is the assembly place of big rocks putting people under a hallucination like fossil dinosaurs in prehistoric age that prostrated them into the blue sea.
The first impression is very clear by contrast of color between reddish rocks and the deep blue east sea.
Daewangam is like a dragon figure struggling to free itself from the sea.
Tourist can reach the Dawangam after crossing an iron bridge built on rocky pillars connected sporadically.
Maenabaui is sometimes called Yongchuam and originated from the saying that a dragon felt on ascending to heaven and has a story followed to legend of king Munmu in Shilla dynasty about the dragon defending the fatherland.
The story is that the wife of king Munmu who died following her husband's death sunk the sea to be a dragon of defense of fatherland like her husband. Except Daewangam, there is a Tanggun rock, a suicide rock, a rocky island floated near the beach, a virgin rock and a penis rock, which has a story that someone had a mishap when he tried to fall down the rock.
A Mongdol farm of about 500m spreaded on the right side of the beach is surrounded by strange shaped rocks enhances the beauty of the rocky beach.
Tourists can meet the Ilsan beach descending steps after taking a turn in the park and going out a mountain ridge.
It is very good to walk along with the horizon of about 1km seen far away although tough sands mixed with gravels.
Especially, the shape of rocks when having a view on a rented boat is a wonderful view, although the view is great from the spot where the light house is located too.
‐ Transportation Drive about 2km from Bangeojin port and meet another small Ulgi lighthouse showing a great view with strange shaped rocks and big cone pines. Ulsan is located on the area jutted out into the south and, especially, Ulgi lighthouse is applicable to the peak of the jutted area."

Hi Chris,
The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The diagonal line of the bridge is an asset to the composition. The point of view takes our eyes toward the lighthouse and the trees which is giving depth to the photo. The intensity of the light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Bonjour Chris,
Daniel.

Hello Chris,
The graphical elements of the bridge and the foreground railings and the way they are picked out by the light make this image for me. I also like the foreground shadow play and the warm/cool tonal contrasts.

Namaste Chris
A thoroughly informative note o go with this picture...indeed the lighthouse, though the primary subject in your picture is quite small as seen from here while the bridge crossing the river dominates. The deep blue water is certainly beautiful and adds a dash of fine colour. A fine complete presentation
