Photographer’s Note
Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland has to be one of the most scenic locations for a castle, perched on a rock overlooking one of the more beautiful beaches in England. Northumberland has more castles than any county in England, but this has to be one of the best.
We walked a little way to get away from both the tourists and the sand--rocks make for such a better foreground. We spent nearly two hours at this beach. Cool place.
Not much post-processing--it didn't need it.

You captured the beauty of the landscape very well here, and used the castle as an anchor for the eye. It's a great image, the warm colors are pleasant even the distant couples walking on the beach contribute to it's appeal. I have no adverse criticism whatsoever.

Hi Clark
Excellent wide angle shot of a very beautiful landscape with great sharpness from A to Z, congrats. Also your light and color management is fine. The blue hues are incredible. Well done

Hi, Clark,
This is a spectacular shot.
Distinctive composition with an interesting foreground competing with the small but still stunning presentation of the distant castle.
Colors, line and texture of the foreground in the lower two thirds of the frame are strong contributors to the overall effectiveness of the photo.
I like the detail of the two humans, perfectly placed (contrast wise) against the sand in the upper right.
Even the small touch of the visual interplay between the clouds and the white foam on the surf makes a nice contribution.
Wonderful sharpness and clarity throughout.
Kudos!

Hello Clarke,
I like the composition of this picture. The vertical format suits very well to this landscape. The colored foreground is interesting and leads the eye to the castle.

Hi Clark,
this stretch of rocks is indeed very eye-catching and a good lead-in to the castle in the BG. Exposure is top-notch. Well done!

Hi Clark,
This is a well crafted and well planned composition. The vertical format really give it much depth. It provided us great detail of the foreground and take us far in the distant lanscape and castle as well, and what a beautiful day and lovely sky with beautiful clouds. The tiny little people adds scape and perspective. Thanks

Hello Clark,
The unusual colours for a beach view are making this an eye-catcher. Good choice for a high horizon to take in the scenery of the foreground.

Hello Clark -
This is one of the places I missed on my trip to Scotland and the England in 2007. We had some car problems and got a day behind so things had to be cut to keep on schedule. I am really sorry to have missed it. This is an excellent image. You have FG detail forming a leading line to the castle and you have definition in the sky with some nice white cumulus clouds. Technically everything looks to spot on the money. Well done!
Thank you for sharing.

You have always had a knack with the camera, but I am impressed by how much your photography has improved over the past few years. Everything in focus. Lots of interesting elements all combined nicely. Not to mention how you get to travel to some pretty neat places. I'm envious.
I like your wide angle lens but it does cause some distortion to the horizon and especially the castle. I took out the lens distortion and leveled the horizon a bit. You can see the results in the workshop.
Great job, Clark. Tell your mom & dad hello.
