Photographer’s Note
Ponte D. Luis, or D. Luis Bridge, the two layer bridge made by Eiffel office more than one years ago, and today's ex libris of the city of Porto.
This bridge was made with a steel structure, similar to the Eiffel tower in Paris, and it was the first permanent bridge built over the Douro River, connecting the cities of Porto and Gaia. Few years ago, it was renovated so the upper layer would be used for the surface metro. A very clever idea, it brought back the pedonal life to the bridge and to the city.
