At the feet of the Gomateshwara here
The title refers to the politically charged novel and 1997 Booker prize winner by Indian author Arundhati Roy. A story about the childhood experiences of a pair of fraternal twins who become victims of circumstance. The book is a description of how the small things in life build up, translate into people's behavior and affect their lives.

Hey,
Nice shot with the girl posing for you in the bright colors.
The large face in the bg also contributes to the interesting nature of the shot.
Let's hope this great book will one day be made into a movie! Could work really well on screen

Hallo Elaine,
Nice how you now show us the top of the statue after having seen the feet, and I like the way he is peering over the temple. The girl in purple really jumps out against the sandstone colouring and she as well as being a nice detail shows the size comparison.

Funny composition with the "small" woman and the huge statue. The only vivid colors come from her dress this is very nicely done. Also there is lots of volume with all the different layers.

Elaine: I like your choice of contrasts here - both regarding color scheme, size, and attitude. This is a fine Indian image. I would be proud to have shot it. best, c

Dear Elaine
In one of my visits, I stood here for quite a while waiting for some 'colourful' person to turn up...but in vain. Gomateshwara seems to be the Lord here...indeed. The splash of colours does a world of good. Well seen & captured
Best Regards

Hello Elaine,
This picture is very well balanced in a suprising way by the girl in one corner and the Buddha in another. You were lucky that her beautiful clothes fit so well into the surroundings. I've just returned fron north-east India where there are no beautiful temples or interesting "sights" but a lot of beautiful and very nice people.
Regards,
Gert
