This is another scanned 20 year old picture from Cuzco, Peru.
This was Cuzco, the capital of the Incas. This small local restaurant had dirt floor with a little 13 years old girl taking orders. There were a dog, a cat and a tall chicken walking inside the restaurant. It was very charming. I am delighted to find out how good Peruvian food and coffee really are. There was an Inca lady sitting at the table next to mine. Her expression was so powerful that I could read her life story from her face. She was drinking the Chicha, a type of alcoholic drink made from maize that dated back to pre-Hispanic time. It was served in a large glass that looked more like a vase. It is a little stronger than the beer, much cheaper and tastes quite good. She sat quietly at the table and smile at me. I asked if I could take her picture and nodded approvingly. I felt at ease here because people were very friendly to me. They were as curious about me as I was about them. Everybody wanted to buy me a Chicha and I ended having 5 on my table. Usually, I can barely hold a single can of beer. I was very touched by their hospitality. The trip back to my hotel by foot was long and dark. By the time I got to the hotel area, all of them were boarded up to the point that they were unrecognizable for security reason. I had to knock at a few doors to find out which was mine.

A strong picture.. the expression and the note.. and especially its from 20 years before.
The expression on the face of the lady sure tries to tell us stories. The drink she holds tells of the tradition they have been following.
Strong shot - TFS - Vikram
