Photographer's Note

The island of Chiloe has a unique culture, epitomised by a series of UNESCO World Heritage wooden churches, spread through the archipelago.

The other distinctive traditional architectural feature is the palafitos - wooden houses built on the edges of the water.

July is the rainy season in an area where it rains 366 days a year anyway - so I felt fairly lucky to get some sun on the palafitos - the really lucky photographer gets the sun at high tide, with the water right under the houses.
