Photographer's Note

The Vila Velha State Park has been completely restructured recently and its main attractions are the sandstone sculptures, the Dourada Lake and the Furnas caves with their very high walls and internal lakes.

The park is open from Wednesday until Monday and can be reached by minibus. Tours are led by a local guide and last approximately three hours, giving you the possibility of visiting the rock formation on foot. Vila Velha has an incredibly contrasting landscape. One side is full of wide open grassland and the other is covered with Araucaria forest with close and humid vegetation.

I know that was not the perfect moment for shooting since the light was harsh but the local guide asked me not to take so long since the park was to close. A better light? maybe in the end of the day but not for me and in that occasion. It was kind of frustrating...
