Photographer's Note
Bye bye New Zealand! I am back from my long trip to New Zealand.
Aotearoa is the Maori name for New Zealand, though it seems at first to have been used for the North Island only. Many meanings have been given for the name but with Maori names the true meaning can often be found only in a mythological story or in historical fiction illustrating either how the name was given or something of the ideas which prompted it. Aotearoa is made up of either two or three words, Aotea and roa or Ao tea and roa. Aotea could be the name of one of the canoes of the great migration, the great magellan cloud near the bright star Canopus in summer, a bird or even food; ao is a cloud, dawn, daytime, or world; tea white or clear, perhaps bright, while roa means long or tall.
The most popular and authoritative meaning usually given is “long white cloud”.
It was wonderful journey. My main interest (and goal) was to see Maori culture and fantastic rain forests.
From Warsaw I went 6 hours to Dubai, then after a night in the airport hotel there was long 16 hours flight to Auckland. from there a few hours by bus and I was in the other end of the world, in Rotorua.
Rotorua is famous for its geothermal activity, and features geysers – notably the Pohutu Geyser at Whakarewarewa – and hot mud pools. This thermal activity is sourced to the Rotorua caldera, on which the town lies. But there are also some examples of Maori architecture. Here the Maori church near the lake Rotorua.
On Workshops the other view with the military cemetery.
Although the journey was long (12 hours time difference), I haven't suffered of jet lag, also in the way back.
Bigger beta picture
Broader view with the military cememtery.

Welcome back from the other side of the globe, I am looking forward to seeing your photos. This is a very crisp and clear shot of this church. The yellow and red colours stand out from the green and blue background.

Ciao Malgo,
J'ai pu constater sur facebook que tu étais dans cette partie du monde. Tu as vraiment tout vu et c'est tant mieux. Elle est très belle cette église qui n'est pas gênée de ses couleurs vives.

Hello Malgo,
You never get tired, you never need to stop for a rest, you hardly even need to take a lunch-break. What's wrong with you? ;-) I wish I had your energy. Then I could go on travelling like 20 years before.
I saw the word "crisp" in one of the earlier critiques and I can only agree. Of course, in early autumn we also have crisp light and colours in our part of the world, so maybe this is nothing particular for New Zealand. In any case the light and colours are very appealing. The church is nice, at first looking a bit British to me, but on second thoughts it is rather different. But I would have to see many more buildings to understand what constitutes a Maori style.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Malgo,
Great to see this picture of Rotorua, maybe the most mystical place of the North Island. Architecture of this church is quite interesting. Maybe it could be called local interpretation of British heritage. Weather is remarkably good. I'm already waiting for your shots of volcanic features of the area.

Hello Malgo,
A superb shot of the half timbered, half Anglican, half Maori church. Fantastic warm cold colour contrasts between the blue sky and the red strips and roof. Nice sharpness, too. Tfs!

Hi, Malgo.
A very different construction of this church, with a nice combination of colors, playing in addition to geometric drawings, the church looks very new surrounded by nature.
Sharpness, lighting, color, and the magnificent composition; they are all perfectly realized factors, in this beautiful image.
Well done. I like very much.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hi Malgorzata,
The church is well placed in the frame. The point of view is showing a double perspective of the architecture of the church. The light is bringing out the colors. My main computer is not working, I am using my tablet to access internet, have a nice day.

This nice photo of a colorful church is a remarkable trophy for your trip to NZ. The sky is perfectly blue and the colors of the church are strong and inviting. Great sharpness too.
