Photographer's Note

This image requires a few Australian explanations.
What we commonly call a gum tree is a eucalypt. What we call gum boots are elsewhere called, variously, Wellies, Wellington Boots, Rain Boots or other names.
So here we have a dead "gum tree" loaded with gum boots in a settlement of fishing shacks at the mouth of the Pieman River in western Tasmania. The area is very wet, wild and windy and just near an ocean beach.
