Photographer's Note

I am not sure where the obsession started, but the so-called “purple trees” have always been of much admiration among the tourists.

Local and tourists visiting Australia are absolutely enchanted by the beautiful jacaranda trees – not to say they are not beautiful, but I didn’t always share the admiration, until the last time I visited Australia.

However, my last trip to Australia before the one when the picture was taken was in 2015. I went there with my family to a ski resort and had an amazing time. I particularly loved this short vacation because of the two things: our accommodation was perfect and this is where our little daughter learned to ski.

In spring 2016 we landed in Sydney to be welcomed by these beautiful jacaranda trees. North Shore was full of beautiful locations to take a picture of it and we learned that Grafton was often called the capital of these beautiful trees. In fact, Australia is so proud of it that you can still see in Grafton the highest jacaranda tree – around 30-meters-high.

Few days passed and we moved further to smaller villages – one of those was the one where this picture was taken. On the road, where we stopped for a coffee break. You can see a little town or perhaps better yet a village below. These trees are variations of jacaranda trees as seen from the picture. We enjoyed this so much!
