Photographer's Note

Sarah Island in a corner of Macquarie Harbour on the west coast of Tasmania was a penal settlement for convicts in the period of 1822-33. It was very isolated and with no nearby supply towns.
This old bread (I think ) oven is in an area now being reclaimed by the rainforest.
