Photographer's Note
One more to try to keep those caught in the European heat wave cool.
When you look out the back of my house you look straight across to Mt Gibraltar, known locally as "The Gib".
On the top of The Gib is a eucalypt forest with good short walks and good lookouts. On this day I took a walk through the snow, which you can't do very often because we only get occasional snow.
Best in the large view.

Hello Ian
A lovely winter scene that comes as a kind of relief to the hot days that we are still encountering here. The monochrome works very well with the snow perfectly exposed.
Have a nice Sunday.

Hi Ian,
Well composed with path, house and trees, good rendering and contrast in b&w, a cool view with snow on the ground, tfs.

Hello Ian,
It could have been any forest anywhere in Scandinavia except for the small building which would probably have been made of wood. The road curves very nicely and the dark trees make fine contrasts to the white ground. The snow looks like it wouldn't last long.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Ian
A breeze of cold! Yes, you live a DIFFERENT part of the world. Great picture too. I like how the house is half hidden, a bit mysterious.

Hi Ian,
Eucalyptus trees and snow is a special combination. Snow adds light to this scene and works especially well in B&W. Well framed scene where that path leadt to the stone hut.

Hi Ian,
This is a wonderful sight after enduring a 3-4 day heatwave in Brisbane with temperatures nudging 40c for 3 days in a row. I think the 4th previous day it was 36c. Today at last a lot cooler at 32c although there have been several brownouts due to a hailstorm with a lot of lightning strikes and golf ball sized hail over Tarong Power Station which supplies Brisbane.. I know from experience it has to be colder than -5c for the snow to fall and not immediately melt. In Sofia it was -19c. Good sharpness and graphism accentuated by the b&w treatment. The old stone house adds a focal point. Tfs!
