Photographer's Note
This aqueduct is the work and initiative of Francisco de Tembleque, a Franciscan from Toledo who had the idea of providing water for his flock.
Work was begun in 1555 and ended 17 years later. It was intended to provide water to the villages of Otumba and Zempoala.
It extends along 48.22 km in 6 land arcades, being the most known the Monumental Archery of Tepeyahualco, which consists on 68 arches. The central arch has a height of 39.65 m in its highest part through which circulates the water channel that runs above the arcade.

Bonjour, cher Pedro,
c'est là que l'on mesure les progrès réalisés en matière de technologie depuis.
Quel travail cet aqueduc, pas moins de 17 ans pour alimenter en eau les habitants.
Très bon sujet.
Amitiés.

Hello Pedro,
This is an amazing aqueduct, standing like a gigantic monument to the ingenuity of Father Tembleque and the hard work of those who actually built it. 450 years old and still standing strong, that's impressive. I like the POV of the photo and the well managed light.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Pedro,a great capture of this very old aqueduct builth in the typical roman style copy by the spanish invasors in Mexico. I like a lot the long and diagonal perspective, the quality too is very high despite the difficult light. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Pedro,
It's the first time that I hear of this aqueduct.
However, it is very special considering its total length and its number of arches.
You present it here very beautifully including a good view of the landscape through which it goes.
I have the impression that this is a remote area in Mexico.
Best regards, Paul

Hola Pedro,
I was not surprise to learn that this aqueduct was built in the 16th century - many of Portugal and Spain aqueduct dated back to that era.
I also consider aqueduct as ancient wisdom as windmills and sun-dials. People knew long ago to employ nature to their benefut.
Fine photo even as it was cloudy aloft.
Buenas dias,
Ike
