In this place when the sun is high and there's plenty of light this is just a strangely beautiful spot. When the light begins to fade and the shadows grow long, it is not so inviting and friendly looking. One might begin to wonder what sort of spirits dwell here in the darkness.

Truly a wonderful place!the lighting is perfect. I find the picture a little pixelated, might be your methode of compression for TE. Anyhow, well done,

Hi Shelly. Good scene for this composition. We had a track similar to this at Oakura Beach which we called the Ghost Track! so it has old memories. Well cropped to make it very effective indeed. Murray.

Well done in the difficult lighting situation - sharp and clear front to back capuring the trees with character. I can see you are enjoying the D-70s.

This photo has very good composition. I like the trees standing on right and leaning to left with curved trunks. The penetrating light is a key element. You control the lighting very well. The textures are just beautiful. It reminds me a scene in the movie Gone with the wind.

Hi Shelly, wonderful collection of pictures that you got so far. I was browsing through and it was difficult to pick one to start with. Finally I chose this here. Your title summarizes it well. It reminds me a little bit the scenery used in "Gone with the wind".
