Photographer's Note

Black Diamond Golf Course is located next to Otto Lake; wild Iris were blooming by the lake. The mountains of Denali National Park tower in the background. Actually we went here to eat at the Black Diamond Cafe, not being golfers.

For most golfers, this is a great opportunity to see what the original courses in Scotland were like. This course was built in 1995, right on top of the Alaskan tundra with little-to-no top soil. The rugged grass is challenging to say the least. Hazards include moose-hoof prints, tundra marsh, and a local fox that steals your ball off the second green. Source
