Renaissance Center

This is the Renaissance Center in Detroit, which could also already be seen in my previous post, but then from across the river Detroit. This photo was taken from Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit.

The Renaissance Center is a group of seven skyscrapers, which are all connected to each other. It was built in 1977 and has been the tallest building in the state of Michigan ever since (230 metres). The central tower is a hotel, but the complex is owned by General Motors and used as its headquarters. The foreground features Hart Plaza and the Horace E. Dodge and Son Memorial Fountain.
