Photographer's Note

I have already mentioned that on the return from the Bahamas, it took us ages to disembark the ferry. Miami Port authorities were extremely poorly organized. We arrived in our hotel quite late at night and I had no heart to wake my family early morning as originally planned for the next day. The planned destination was Key West. Driving time: about four hours one way. We have arrived hungry and started with some great food in a restaurant at the famous Duval Street. The best way to see a lot of Key West in short time was to take a Conch Train Tour. In fact, we captured the very last of the trains. It was a great experience, we have seen everything of interest with great commentary, although the tour was too fast to take any decent photo. I hoped naively to return to my favourite spots afterwards. One of the main attractions of Key West is the Hemingway Home. He lived there only 1931-1939 but the building houses now his museum. It cost me an extra ice cream for my daughter to get there but when we arrived the house was already closed. This photo shows the view which you have through the locked gate of the house. We have concluded the day as all Key West visitors do: watching sunset from the Mallory Square.
