Photographer's Note

Aloha! A shot from the Kilauea caldera looking toward Mona loa from the edge of the Halema'uma'u cratere. (a caldera is a big cratere). This vocano was active in the 70's 80's and now you can hike in it. It's quite worth it since it look like nothing I've ever seen. All sort of solid lava. It's black, bare and desolated but surely not boring. The shapes colors, textures change all the time. The surface of the rocks is all crispy, so it feels weird to walk on it. Every so often, there are some fumes to remind you that you are stepping on the most active volcano of the world!!!
