Photographer's Note

I was hiking and found this rusted cable lying along the fire-road. I liked this close-up shot the best, but if you want perspective, there is a zoomed out shot here.

It was a nice sunny day and I was looking for oppurtunities to test various features on my camera, which I had just bought the day before.

If I had it to do again:
I would probably have moved the rock in the bottom right farther out of the way, so the unfocused portion wouldn't have gotten so close to the center of focus.

The clarity of focus is what I like about macro shots, especially on this one where the cable then fades off to the left. Having the center of focus on the right side of the picture was accidental, but I really like the effect.

ISO.50, focal.51mm, exp.-0.7
